Tales From the Borderlands Episode 1 Review {Critically Sane}

Critically Sane: "From a technical perspective, Tales From the Borderlands looks and plays as you would expect a Telltale adventure game to play. By that I mean janky animations and sometimes stuttering transitions. It doesnt feature the more game-killing bugs that the original season of The Walking Dead did, but it also isnt a fully smooth experience. It is a shame, but it is kind of a notable calling card of these Telltale adventures that they are just a bit janky.
But the jank is forgivable for the most part because Tales From the Borderlands is fun. Really, really fun. It is two hours of action packed hijinks with fun writing, interesting characters, and just enough of a shift to the Telltale formula that it feels fresh and exciting. I cant wait until Episode Two releases"

Telltale's Game of Thrones has not just one impossible legacy to live up to, but two: HBO's adaptation of George RR Martin's Song of Ice and Fire, and its own seminal Walking Dead adaptation.
At first it seems to have betrayed both legacies in the most embarrassing way.
The action begins outside Walder Frey's stronghold on the night of the Red Wedding. You play as Gared Tuttle, well-liked sq...

PSU:
"A trademark of recent Telltale Games series has been making tough choices on the fly, knowing full well the games cast is not likely to go unpunished for whatever decision you make. If ever there was a previously untapped popular franchise more suited to this formula than HBOs Game of Thrones, I honestly couldnt think of it. A T.V. series that centres on peoples manipulating opinions to suit their own agendas and where the use of the right and wrong sentence usually results in someones grisly demise? Thrones is almost a perfect mould for the Telltale method of branching dialogue choices and deadly decision-making used to great effect in the company's recent big hitters, The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us, and here is the fruition of these two mediums coming together."

Hayden Waugh writes: "The people at Telltale Games have certainly spread their wings this year. The second season of The Walking Dead received nothing but praise and their announcement of an episodic series set in the world of Borderlands, with help from Gearbox Software, came out of left-field.
As a big fan of the Borderlands games, I was right on this. Theres so much potential and a lot of good stuff at Telltales disposal here: humour, locations, characters, and guns. Lots of guns."

Telltale Games, the developers behind The Walking Dead Seasons 1 2 as well as The Wolf Among Us, are at it again only this time their latest game is not based on a comic-book or television series, rather, their latest instalment is based on a previously established video game franchise Borderlands.

Geme Informer:
"Telltale Games has a knack for killing beloved characters, seems intent on delivering experiences that fluctuate between doom and gloom, and has no problem feeding children to wolves. I cant think of a studio better fit to take on HBOs Game of Thrones, the popular television series based on George R. R. Martins A Song of Ice and Fire books.
Telltales first foray into this dark fantasy world is just as thrilling, crushing, bloody, and unpredictable as the studios work on The Walking Dead series. In some cases its too similar to the ebb and flow of that zombie apocalypse, but the winds of winter are strongly felt in this first episode, giving fans of Martins work and its television adaptation another sliver of fiction to obsess over."
